What Happened? 

The Fienix software repository was "unreconciled" due to an unexpected interruption to an update process. Unfortunately, a backup did not exist. Effort to reconcile the repository were unsuccessful. This caused package unavailability, broken packages and broken updates. 

What Now? 

The Fienix software repository has been taken offline. Repairing the repository for the current 6.x version is not feasible. I hope to restore it for a 7.0 release. This would likely be several months away. 

What Should You Do? 

If you have installed all the packages you want/need, you don't need to do anything. Browser updates are generally posted to the "Linux on PowerPC" Facebook group, Hyperion forums, and elsewhere. You can also get packages from Debian, or switch over to Debian completely.

Server Maintanance on February 2, 2024

Update: The Fienix software repository server was down for maintenance on 2/2 and 2/3, but is now back up and running.

Older Fienix Versions to be Retired

The Fienix "Five" test repository and Fienix 5.0 "Fliegend" repository are scheduled for retirement on March 1, 2023. Please ensure your sources.list is updated to the Fienix 5.1 "Spark" repositories to avoid outages and apt errors. 

 

The Fienix 4.0 "Soar" repository will stay active as a "long-term support" option. 

 

Release of Fienix 6.0 is expected to be announced within days.
